Metavivor

In 2015, METAvivor will be  hitting the road, traveling across the United States to raise awareness for Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer.

I am honored to be a part of the Los Angeles committee for its closing ceremonies, as well as facilitating an Healing HeART therapeutic session for met sisters and/or caregivers.

Metastatic breast cancer is NOT the same as breast cancer, as no one dies from breast cancer, they die from having metastatic breast cancer.

In the breast cancer culture, I am a woman’s worst nightmare who is being treated with Stage 0, I, II and III.  Therefore, we are a group of women (and men) who often find ourselves misunderstood and overlooked by the vigilance of the pink ribbon campaign.

We have our own ribbon, as seen above.

As we approach October and the pink ribbon push, I ask all of you to to “Think” before you Pink.   Most of the campaigns out there are not to bring awareness but a money making tactic for companies and individuals.

October 13th is Metastatic Breast Cancer Day.

Here are some great articles to expand your knowledge on  stage 4 metastatic breast cancer.
