The sun went down.
He said he was coming.
But he didn’t come.

A promise broken.
Again, just like the other times.
I wondered what was wrong with me.

I packed it.
I carried it to the porch.
The little flowered suitcase waited with me.

Mom called out to me, “it’s time to come inside.”
I called back, “But Mom, he said he would come.”
I finally went back inside, with my suitcase.

My Brave came, when I forgave you.
From the inside out.
