Consider it destiny, dharma, purpose, calling or kismet. I call it passion. The stuff that makes me tick, makes me joyful, fills my heart and makes my spirit soar.
What is it? It is equipping, and watching others find their voice, while creating, and offering opportunites for them to be released. I have done it for years, first in the classroom setting when I taught in the public school system, then in different countries, prisons, rehab hospitals, churches, etc, with therapeutic art through my non profit, Dandelion Wishes Inc. And now through the platform of the Live Brave blog.
This Live Brave, Not Broken movement is an organic work in progress. It’s only 5 months new. It was started by a sermon, I delivered on Mother’s Day this past year.
I am still learning the ins and outs of this thing called blogging, but I am more passionate about Living Brave and encouraging others to do so as well. And this year, 2014, I have partnered with nine, (9) other amazing writers, artists and poets who will come alongside me on this journey of encouraging others to Live Brave, while they themselves take a leap of brave.
Today, on the first day of the new year, I want to introduce you to them. And then I invite you to join us this year to live your own Brave Journey right here with us.
So without further adieu, I give you the Live Brave Creative Team for 2014.

I am Lesley Kailani Glenn. I am a wife, mom, daughter, sister and friend, who loves art, writing, cooking and nature. I was born and raised in Hawaii and now call Southern California my home. I am a metavivor, and purpose my life to live intentionally everyday, breathing out the best story I can by being authentically me. My journey is sacred. I also write alongside my husband, at http://www.mikeandlesleyglenn.org and am the founder and director of Dandelion Wishes, Inc. A 501(c)3 organization that effects hope, healing and restoration through advocacy, art and action.

She is 51 years old, married with 6 children (that includes 2 daughter-in-laws), 3 grandchildren and a whole slew of children who call her Mom. Melanie’s heart of compassion beats for justice as she is passionate about being a voice for the voiceless. Her own journey of healing and freedom through God’s amazing love, fuels her desire to love others with the love of Christ. Melanie serves as the Local & Global Impact Pastor for Cucamonga Christian Fellowship. As much as she loves serving the local community, her heart is for all nations. Being a Brave Writer, her hope is to authentically share her journey with others.
Lorretta Stembridge is a lifelong artist, writer and photographer who loves to take the things or people others may overlook or cast aside and turn them into something beautiful. Some may call this folk art, she calls this redemption. She loves Jesus, Her husband & family, cats, and coffee–in that order. Lorretta plays well with others, doesn’t run with scissors and the only thing she loves more than cooking is eating! Lorretta writes at Dancing on the Dash www.dancingonthedash.com
