 My Brave List for Today

Today I will wake up expectant for the day.

Today I will breathe deeply.

Today I will be fully present to those I’m around.

Today I will love well.

Today I will lean into Him—the One who calls me His Beloved.

Today I will act and think as His Beloved.

Today I will abandon my iPhone for snuggles and book reading with Blonde Boy.

Today I will step outside long enough to linger in the sunshine.

Today I will read the red letters of scripture.

Today I will pray for that friend who struggles in her mind, for that mother who fears for her son, for the wife who is contending for her marriage.

Today I will tell my husband, “Thank you.”

Today I will talk nice to myself.

Today I will be silly with First Boy.

Today I will create.

Today I will live.

Today I will hope.

  1. Today I will wait. If I have any doubt about a decision, I will wait for God’s direction.Today I will be expectant that God will provide direction because He is a faithful God who keeps His word.Today I will focus on the deliverer instead of the circumstances.

  2. Finding the strength and courage in Christ………is my daily goal. Only with Him and through Him can I continue on this BRAVE JOURNEY. I smile now, when I think of what used to shame me. I smile………and sit in awe of Gods breath taking masterpiece He’s created of my life. My story is HIS story. It’s a story to be told, not covered. What God has done and will continue to do is so utterly magnificent I know it HAS TO BE HIS DOING.

  3. Thank you for sharing your list – it encourages me to expand beyond my Brave list. Today I will take with me into my weekend this – I will put my husband first in all that I do. I will turn to God for love, encouragement, strength and grace. I am ready for a Brave weekend!

And I just love Lisa’s jewelry – Lesley turned me on to her website/FB page. Hope I win.:)

I will give myself ‘timeouts’ and make sure to respond in love, gentleness, patience and with self control and I will choose to live each day with joy and with fearless confidence in who I am because of who is in me.

  5. Today (well, tomorrow at this point–lol–does that still count?) I will “be.” I will quiet my heart and mind and let my “to-do” list go so I can spend time with the One my heart loves. I will put away my computer and my phone and simply sit a while and breathe with Him.

I hope your “today” was marvelous, Laura. I’m sure it was ❤

  6. Today I will breath first. Today I will be quick to listen and slow to speak. Today I will drink less coffee and accept His rest. Today I will listen to what He speaks to my heart and I will believe what He says about me. Today I will smile. Today I will give my kids extra grace. Today I will show my husband I appreciate all he does. Today I will sit with the Lord. I will live today like it is the first day God has given me and I will live today as it is my last day granted. 7. I need to cultivate bravery to deal with ageing, dying, and the whole cycle of fall-winter of life: the inevitable slowing down, perhaps getting sick or weak, being more vulnerable, grieving as more around me die, and realizing mortality, and wondering what is on the other side for me and all of us! I need to think about what it means to bring bravery to each day. Thanks Laura for bringing this quality to my attention!

    1. May God’s presence go with you wherever your journey takes you. I trust Him to lead and guide you emotionally as you face these very real challenges in your life. Thank you for sharing your Brave list here with us.

Blessings to you…and congratulations on winning our BRAVE necklace giveaway.
