I remember when Robin Roberts was first diagnosed with breast cancer back in 2007. I didn’t follow the story much then. However, her story got my attention when she was diagnosed with, myelodysplastic syndrome, or pre leukemia, which she contracted as a result of her breast cancer treatment. With my own diagnosis, I now had something in common with her, and so I took a vested interest in her process. Her healing process.
Last night she was the recipient of the Arthur Ashe Award for Courage, at the ESPY ‘s.
Her story, her speech, worth watching, worth sharing.
All of it.
We all need those, who have gone before us to inspire us to fight, to move forward, to give us hope, to help us LIVE BRAVE.
And so today. I want to share her story with you.
Its a series of three videos. I hope you will take the time to watch them all. Most especially her speech as she received her award.
She talks about making your mess, your message. I am quite sure that is the bravest thing someone can do. It goes back to choosing to be transparent. Choosing to allow those places that may have been broken become a launching pad for someone else’s brave. And in the midst of it all, we become braver ourselves.
One Brave Soul, Gretchen, shared this with us yesterday, “Yet my struggles helps others.”
That my friends is Brave.
I pray you are inspired , and encouraged by Robin’s journey as much as I have been.
Live Brave Question #4 – Whose story has encouraged you to LIVE BRAVE? (not a bible character)
PS: I know, I know…I said I would talk about the tank top giveaway today. I will tomorrow. Promise. I just felt this was way too important to share than a shirt. ❤
